GOLD COAST AIRPORT $370 MILLION REDEVELOPMENT CONTINUES

The existing terminal is currently operating beyond capacity. The continued expansion will not only help meet demand, it will create an entry point to the city, befitting the nation’s leading tourism region.

Last year, a 20,000 square metres airport expansion was completed leading into the Commonwealth Games. In the coming months, a three-level terminal including aerobridges is scheduled to move forward with completion expected 2021, generating up to 1500 jobs during construction. The new terminal will double the floor area of the existing and offer more flexibility to service domestic and international services.

Gold Coast Airport currently looks after 6.6 million passengers a year, and this will more than double by 2037, contributing $818 million annually to the Gold Coast and supporting an estimated 20,000 full time jobs.
